Fillers
Instant Age Defying Rejuvenation
Dermal fillers are considered treatment of choice from the cheek bones down. In the lower face, asymmetries and volume loss are a result of: gravitational pull, hormonal changes, photo damage and smoking. Dermal fillers, whether temporary or semi-permanent provide an instant and immediate correction.
Botulinum Toxin Type A
What is it?
Botox…. officially known as Botulinum Toxin Type A (BTXA) is a purified protein derived from the bacteria clostridium botulinum and was originally identified in the 1895.
There are 3 different Botulinum Toxin Type A products currently on the market, manufactured by different companies.
BOTOX (technically known as Onabotulinum Toxin Type A) is manufactured by Allergan, Xeomin (technically known as IncoBotulinum Toxin A is manufactured by Merz) and Dysport (technically known as Abobotulinum toxin A, is manufactured by Valeant) and are all derived from the same bacteria.
Different manufacturing processes mean subtle differences within the products and none of the products are interchangeable with relation to dosing. However, all the products have the same mechanism of action- that is, they block a chemical your muscles need to contract – without that chemical they cannot contract and they relax. The effect is temporary and generally expected to last 3-4 months. Your body is not permanently changed by having a treatment – after 3-4 months, your muscles will move again and it will not look worse than before you had treatment. BTXA preparation therefore are best utilized on dynamic muscle movements.

Dermal Fillers
Just as BTX-A treatments are considered the treatment of choice for the upper face, dermal fillers are considered treatment of choice from the cheek bones down. In the lower face, asymmetries and volume loss are a result of gravitational pull, hormonal changes, photo damage and smoking.
Dermal fillers, whether temporary or semi-permanent provide an instant and immediate correction. The amount of filler required is dependent on your individual characteristics and the look you are trying to achieve. Keep in mind that not all fillers are appropriate for all areas of your face.
